On December 26th, through Twitter, the union education minister announced that the commencement date for the CBSE examinations will be declared shortly.
The process was heavily delayed because of the covid-19 pandemic. Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal said that a decision will be taken soon to give students time to prepare. On December 31st, it was announced that the board examinations will take place from May 4th to June 10th.
It was also announced that practical examinations will start on March 1st, while the result will be announced on June 15th.
Due to the pandemic, the syllabus has been decreased by 30%, in order to reduce stress caused by covid-19 as well as the board examinations. The examinations will take place in a physical location rather than on an online platform.
Covid-19 precautions will be taken to keep the students as well as administrators safe and to curb covid-19 surges any further. Even though the examination will be held on an offline platform, masks and gloves will be mandatory and social distancing will be employed.
