About-

The KVPY is an ongoing national program for fellowship in basic science which is initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to attract exceptionally highly motivated students pursuing introductory science courses and research career in science.

There is no official syllabus offered by IISc. The topics mentioned are based on experts’ inputs and paper pattern of past years.

Preparation Tips for KVPY-

Know the syllabus-

The very first thing you have to do is to know your syllabus. Read it twice and get a clear idea of what all you need to prepare. No one is going to ask you anything out of the syllabus.

Get your concepts clear-

You can not even think of qualifying the exam if your basics are not clear. You need to excel your basics so that you can solve any advanced level questions without much difficulty.

Choose the right study material-

When preparing for exams like this, you must choose the right study material so that it complements your preparation. When doubtful about the right books, ask your teachers at school. They can help you immensely. You can also take help from the sources online, be it google or YouTube.

Make a time table-

You must have a well-planned study routine so that you do not waste your precious time. Plan you time table in a way that you also get enough time for the revision. Set every day goals and complete them with in the required time frame and be very consistent with you schedule.

Don’t forget to make concise notes-

While you are studying, keep on making short notes. You can grab a concept easily if you keep on making notes along with the preparation. These notes will help you in the revision.

Solve previous year papers-

By solving previous year papers, you can gauge your preparation. You will get to know about your strong and weak areas. It will also help you to understand the exam pattern and the difficulty level of the examination.

Be consistent-

If you really want to ace this examination, you have to be consistent. Consistency is the key to success. Initially things might be tough, but with time everything will settle down.
