Preparation Tips-

Preparing for the Mathematics Olympiad is not easy because you have to practice an infinite number of problems to perform well. However, here are some of the tips which can help you with the preparation.

Solve the best quality Practice problems-

You need to solve all the previous year questions which are available in the market so that you have an idea about the exam pattern. Even though any problem-solving practice you get will be helpful, if you want to qualify for this Olympiad, spend most of the time solving the previous year GMO questions.

Do not waste your time-

Quality practice time is the key, so do not waste it doing unnecessary chores. Instead, find a quiet room and ambience where you can study with sheer concentration.

Focus on your weak points and avoid tiny mistakes-

Keep track of the problems you were unable to solve, where you felt your concepts were not strong, and ask your teachers about the problem. Then, make a plan to get similar problems right in the future.

Make a proper time table-

Set aside a dedicated time in a day when you only study for the Olympiad because studying once a week is not going to take you anywhere.

Attend other mathematics competitions-

Attend other competitions of mathematics because they will help you to delve deeper into this subject. If there is a math club or group, you may join it as well. The more you practice, the more are the chances to qualify for the Olympiad.
